He proudly served his country in the U. S. Army during the war in Vietnam. Mike continued to serve his country as a technician with the VA Zablocki Medical Center in Milwaukee for over 25 years. He was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and Rebuilding Together Fox Valley. Mike was always ready to lend a hand to anyone that needed it. He is survived by his loving wife, Kathy; daughter, Wendy (Mark) Neuok; step-sons, Matt (Cheryl) Lemerond, Nick and Tyler Lemerond; sisters, Mary (Scott) Ruehle, Margie (Steve) Trojanowski, Barbara (Phil) Prozen, Kathleen (Paul) Clavette; his brother, Tom Baker; his in-laws, Marvin (Sandy) Rose, Ruth Rose, Steve (Faye ) Rose, Jeff (Lori) Rose, Brad (Laurel) Rose, Scott (Tina) Rose and Melissa Grignon; and many nieces and nephews. Mike loved his eleven beautiful grandchildren: Jozie and Jocelynn Slade; Monica, Paul and Abby Neuok; Merissa, Cassandra, Matthew, Luke, Hailey and Bella Lemerond—and they loved their grandpa dearly. He was preceded in death by his son, Daniel; and two brothers, Patrick and Dennis Baker.
